Why didn’t the Police officer shoot the tiger?

The video that went viral around the world of a tiger walking through a yard in a West Houston neighborhood and towards an undercover police officer has given me pause.

With his gun drawn and the 300 pound yellow and black carnivore approaching him, thousands if not millions of viewers who watched the footage were cringing and waiting for the sound of the bullet leaving the chamber of the gun. They anticipated seeing the shot striking and killing the large feline. Why didn’t he squeeze that button? I just know the eyes watching this incredible experience go down were 50/50 on emotions. Half were sitting on pins and needles scared for the officer and the other half were like “Please don’t shoot and kill this beautiful cat!”

Victor Hugo Cuevas is the owner of this tiger, well at least that is what we are expected to believe. A troubled young man with a hefty police record. He was out on bail for an unrelated murder charge from 2017.

As the police officer stood there yelling at bystanders to stay away, and keep back the tiger approached within ten feet of the officer. You could see in the video the police officer was shaking. You just know that this brave officer was thinking, “My God I can’t believe this is happening,” but again he did not shoot!! Why? you may ask?

Even Carole Baskin, founder of Big Cat Rescue and star of the Netflix series “Tiger King,” is offering a $5,000 reward in connection with the safe return of this tiger.

As you see in the video the tiger isn’t very big. More importantly, he is not showing any aggression. I mean heck just minutes earlier this tiger named India was basking in the sun doing what most cats do.

I believe officer Justin Nguien saw the collar that was around India’s neck and thought quickly that this deadly predator hadn’t escaped from a zoo. A pet. Maybe he has cats at home and knew in his heart this larger than life feline was friendly and wasn’t truly going to attack him. Officer Justin Nguien still had to give a benefit of the doubt that this is still a wild animal.

Thankfully, before any gunfire rang out Victor Hugo Cuevas came running out of his place onto the yard and threw himself in front of the tiger yelling.

“Don’t shoot, don’t shoot he’s my tiger”

Now I believe Victor knew he had screwed up and before the officer knew what was going on Victor placed the Tiger into a vehicle and zoomed off to get rid of his furry friend.

Now in the Mainstream media they said there was a small car chase but Victor and the tiger got away. That doesn’t make sense. What? So the cops gave chase for a couple blocks and decided, “Well that’s enough chasing for one day lets go grab a Doughnut!” Ummm. No.

When the cops did finally catch up to Victor they asked what he did with the tiger. Victor responded, “I let him go into the forest.”

I just about busted a gut laughing out loud when I heard that statement. First off, there is no way a large tiger raised by humans would stay away from humans. All the little guy knows is these funny looking animals that walk on two legs and “give me yummy food.”

Anybody with a functional brain cell would know that Victor gave the tiger to a friend or the true owner of the feline.

Why wouldn’t Victor give up the person who has the tiger?

How about Victor doesn’t want his family to get harmed or himself getting put six feet under after Victor does his time in the big house. These are my thoughts and this is my opinion.
